Apibara is a vehicle auction data API built for developers, dealers, brokers, exporters, and automotive marketplaces who need reliable access to Copart and IAAI auction listings without maintaining fragile scrapers or browser automation. The REST API exposes 11 documented endpoints covering vehicle search with extensive filters, single-vehicle lookups, auction history, related-vehicle matching, shipping cost estimates, facility/location search, URL-to-vehicle resolution, usage monitoring, and an image proxy for auction photos. Records include VIN, lot number, current and historical bid pricing, buy-now pricing, condition and damage details, odometer readings, engine/transmission specs, seller information, sale documents, and photo/video media. Live bid data refreshes roughly every 15 seconds, and general vehicle records refresh about every 30 minutes. In addition to the raw API, Apibara ships a ready-made WordPress plugin that lets automotive websites embed searchable Copart/IAAI inventory, filters, vehicle detail pages, and image galleries directly on WordPress without custom scraping code. Apibara is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Copart, IAAI, or their parent companies.

Key Features

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Wide free tier for evaluation — 100 requests/month with no card required
  • Covers both Copart and IAAI in one normalized JSON API instead of separate scrapers per auction site
  • Ready-made WordPress plugin lowers the barrier for auto-dealer sites to embed live auction listings
  • Documented endpoint set (search, VIN lookup, history, shipping, locations) with code examples in multiple languages on GitHub

Cons

  • Pricing tiers are only shown embedded on the product page rather than a dedicated pricing page
  • No published company background (founding date, team, or headquarters), which may make trust harder to establish for larger buyers
  • Not officially affiliated with Copart or IAAI, so data accuracy depends entirely on Apibara's own maintenance of those sources
