CaterZen is a web-based catering software platform built by Restaurant & Catering Systems for drop-off, full-service, and event-space caterers, as well as takeout and grocery-deli catering operations. It centers on a catering-specific CRM for tracking prospects and clients, paired with online ordering (including custom-branded ordering sites on higher tiers), proposal and quote generation, and automated reminders to help close sales. On the operations side, CaterZen adds delivery routing, kitchen production reports, BEO templates, a kitchen display system, and label printing to help kitchens execute orders accurately. Marketing tools include inquiry forms and email automation, and mobile order-taking is supported for on-the-go staff. The platform was created by Michael Attias, who grew his own restaurant's catering division to over $1 million a year before selling the restaurant at the end of 2005 and spending about two years building CaterZen to fill gaps he found in catering-specific software.

Pros & Cons
Pros
All-in-one catering CRM, online ordering, kitchen production, and marketing platform, reducing the need to stitch together separate tools.
Every published plan includes unlimited users and transactions, so the subscription price doesn't rise as a team or order volume grows.
Built specifically around catering workflows -- BEO templates, kitchen production reports, drop-off vs. full-service order handling -- rather than adapted from a generic CRM or restaurant POS.
Connects to established third-party tools like QuickBooks Online, Google Calendar/Workspace, Chowly (20+ POS systems), and Burq delivery drivers rather than requiring a closed ecosystem.
Cons
Enterprise-tier pricing is not published and requires contacting sales, making it harder to comparison-shop upfront.
Features such as custom-branded ordering sites, marketing systems, and VoIP calling are gated behind the $199/mo and $229/mo tiers rather than included in the base $179/mo plan.
Optional add-ons like SMS, fax, calls, and direct mail carry separate per-use fees on top of the monthly subscription.
