Charming is a collaborative cloud for apps you build in chat. You ask Claude, ChatGPT or another supported AI tool to make an app, and Charming hosts it, keeps its data and gives it a link. The product was previously called Buildy, and existing apps still work.
The company positions it as a home for the small apps people now build with AI. It was founded in 2026 by Michael Magan and is based in Seattle, WA. Its stated aim is to let you build and share an app the way you would share a Google Doc.
How does Charming work?
You first connect Charming to your AI tool. ChatGPT and Codex install it from a listing, Claude adds it from its connector directory, and Grok uses a custom connector. Anything that can make web requests can use the HTTP path. You then describe the app you want, and your AI writes it while Charming stores and serves it.
Charming returns a link, and the app opens in a browser or on a phone. Later chats, in the same AI or a different one, can read the app and change it at the same link without resetting saved data. You then invite people and choose what each of them can do.
Key features of Charming
Each app keeps its own storage, so entries survive across visits and chats. Sharing uses three roles: View, Use and Edit. Use access lets someone add and change data without changing how the app works. Owners can revoke access, or publish an app so anyone with the link can use it.
Apps can run scheduled routines and call outside APIs, with connected service keys kept out of app code. Saved versions can be restored. A template gallery offers apps such as a lending library, bill splitter, trip planner and quote tool that you can copy and adapt with your AI.
Key Features
Works inside your existing AI assistant — Create and update apps from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Muse, Grok, Cursor, Codex and other supported tools. Charming supplies no model of its own.
Automatic publishing at a real link — Each app gets a link, such as charm.ing/maya/lending-library, that opens in a browser or on a phone, and it can be placed on a home screen.
Saved data that persists — Each app keeps its own data, so items saved in one session are still there on a phone or in a new chat. No database setup is required.
Role-based sharing — Invite people by email as View, Use, or Edit. Use access lets someone add and change data without changing how the app works. Access can be revoked at any time.
Public publishing — Publish an app so anyone with the link can use it, then make it private again when finished.
Routines and webhooks — Apps can run on a schedule and call outside APIs. Connected service keys are kept out of app code. Plans cap routines and webhooks per app.
Saved versions and restore — Restore any saved version of an app. Free keeps 10 versions per app, Pro 50, and the Team plan 200.
Templates and copying — Copy example apps such as a lending library, expense splitter, trip planner, quote tool and renewals tracker, then ask your AI to adapt them.
Custom domains — Pro and higher plans can serve an app from their own domain and remove the Charming mark.
Team controls — The Team plan adds shared team apps, sharing management across all team apps, visibility into APIs and outside hosts each app calls, and an audit trail with CSV export.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Charming?
Charming is a collaborative cloud that hosts apps you build in chat with Claude, ChatGPT and other supported AI tools. It stores the app and its data, gives it a link, and lets you share it with chosen people. It was previously called Buildy.
How much does Charming cost?
Free costs $0 a month for personal apps. Pro is $8 a month, and the Team plan is $14 per seat a month with a three-seat minimum. Enterprise is custom priced.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan allows unlimited personal apps, private apps and invitations, 1 GB of storage and 10 saved versions per app. Storage and usage limits apply.
Do I need to know how to code to use Charming?
No. Your AI tool writes the code and Charming hosts it. You describe the app in chat and receive a link.
Do I need a separate AI subscription?
Charming works with the AI you already use and supplies no model of its own. Your AI provider sets its own plan and usage limits.
Who can see my Charming app?
Only you, until you invite people or make the app public. You can set each invited person to view, use, or edit, and revoke access at any time.
Can I use a custom domain with Charming?
Yes, on the Pro plan and above. The domain is added in the Domain section of the app settings.
What happens if I stop paying for Pro?
The site states that you move to the free plan and your apps keep working. You lose Pro and Team features such as custom domains. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
