TailDesk is a WordPress plugin built by the Dutch software studio Eyeseet (EyeSeeT) for pet sitters and small-scale pet-care services. Unlike generic time-slot schedulers, TailDesk manages bookings by day, which better fits boarding and sitting businesses that track daily capacity rather than hourly appointments. Site visitors can submit booking requests through a front-end form without creating an account, and the business manages services, daily capacity limits, and an availability calendar from the WordPress admin area. The plugin also generates invoices for confirmed bookings. A free version is published on the official WordPress.org plugin directory (currently v1.0.4), and a paid upgrade, TailDesk Pro, is sold directly through eyeseet.nl for a one-time fee, adding features such as Google Calendar synchronization, custom booking fields, and expanded invoice templates. Eyeseet is a small, product-focused studio that also builds a website auditing tool (Site Scanner) and an automation tool (SpiderFlow), alongside custom WordPress and web-application development work.

Key Features

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Free core plugin is available directly on WordPress.org with no signup required to try it
  • Day-based (rather than time-slot) booking logic is purpose-built for pet sitting and boarding
  • TailDesk Pro is a one-time $179 purchase rather than a recurring subscription
  • Runs natively inside the WordPress admin, so no separate booking platform or login is needed

Cons

  • Very early-stage: only 10+ active installs and no user reviews yet on WordPress.org
  • Requires a self-hosted WordPress site — not usable as a standalone or non-WordPress product
  • Built and maintained by a very small (apparently solo) software studio, so support capacity and roadmap depend on one team
  • Narrow niche focus on pet sitting/boarding rather than general-purpose scheduling
