KanMaps is a web-based product roadmap tool that presents a roadmap as a skill tree. Features appear as nodes joined by paths, so a visitor can see what has shipped, what is being built and what is still being explored. It is built for teams that want customers to explore the roadmap and vote on what comes next.
Unlike a flat list or an upvote board, the tree shows why one feature comes before another. Paths show what each feature depends on, and shipping a feature lights up the next milestone. Public roadmaps get their own pages, share cards, a changelog with RSS and a one-line embed for a company website.
A team names its product and picks a template, or pastes a list it already has. Bullets become areas, and a [x] marks a shipped item. From there the team drags from any feature to add the next one. Marking something shipped fills it in, and the next milestone opens by itself.
Each shape and symbol has one meaning. Circles are new features, rounded squares are improvements and octagons are choices customers vote on. A ring shows progress, color marks the product area, size marks big bets, and small pips count phases. Hearts always mean customer votes, never a status.
On the planning side, KanMaps offers release and quarter milestones, features that ship in 2 to 8 phases, and an Ideas row for work still being explored. Teams edit together with live cursors and follow-camera, use roles from owner to viewer, and discuss features in public or internal comment threads with moderation for guest comments.
On the customer side, visitors vote with a limited budget, suggest features and follow updates. Shipped work becomes a changelog entry and an RSS item. Insights show demand per feature, including demand passed down from dependent features. Share cards, per-feature links and an auto-height embed spread the roadmap beyond the app.
