What is LegendKeeper?

LegendKeeper is a browser-based worldbuilding tool and RPG campaign manager. It is built for game masters, writers, worldbuilders and game designers who need to organize the lore, places and events of a fictional world in one project instead of scattered documents.

The company says more than 200,000 creators use it, with over 180,000 worlds and 26 million pages created, and it lists an Ennies Gold award. The product is still labeled Beta, though the company calls it polished and stable enough for daily use.

How does LegendKeeper work?

Each project is a private workspace made of a wiki, maps, timelines and whiteboards. Pages can be nested without limit, formatted with a rich-text editor and slash commands, and linked together by hand, with @-mentions or with the auto-link button that finds connections missed in a first draft.

Maps are uploaded as images and nested from world to region to town to dungeon. Pins on a map link to wiki pages, and new pages can be created directly from the map. Projects stay private until the owner invites people or publishes a public link.

Key features of LegendKeeper

The wiki supports tags, featured images, tables, layouts and reusable page templates. Maps accept files up to 14K pixels and 100MB, with customizable pin icons, colors and border styles, and pins can be filtered by tag or hidden from players. Timelines offer chronicle, Gantt and calendar views, custom calendar systems and time units from billions of years to the minute.

Boards provide an infinite whiteboard with Page Cards and Board Cards that connect back to the wiki. Secrets can be placed inside wiki pages for GM eyes only. Real-time editing shows collaborators' cursors, and full-text search, dark mode, an asset library and a Map Starter Pack are included.
