Cinema 4D is Maxon's professional 3D animation and motion graphics software with MoGraph and a built-in Redshift GPU renderer. See features, pricing & FAQs.
Cinema 4D is a professional 3D animation, modeling, and rendering application developed by Maxon, part of the Nemetschek Group. It is widely used for motion graphics, visual effects, broadcast design, advertising, game development previsualization, and architectural visualization. Cinema 4D is best known for its MoGraph toolkit, a set of procedural tools that let artists generate and animate complex arrangements of objects (clones, effectors, and fields) without manual keyframing — a workflow that has made it a standard in the motion-design and broadcast-graphics industry. Beyond MoGraph, Cinema 4D includes a full 3D modeling and sculpting toolset (including a Fabric Brush for shaping soft materials like clothing without complex rigging), character animation tools, and simulation systems for fluids, cloth, rigid bodies, and particles, with a Particle Property Manager for reviewing simulation setups. Every current Cinema 4D subscription includes the Redshift GPU-accelerated renderer and five Team Render network-rendering nodes at no extra cost, letting artists render scenes using GPU hardware instead of relying solely on CPU rendering. Cinema 4D runs natively on Windows (including Windows on Arm) and macOS, and is designed to fit into existing production pipelines through file-based interoperability with tools such as Adobe After Effects and Unreal Engine. Since January 1, 2024, Cinema 4D has been available only as a subscription — Maxon discontinued perpetual (one-time-purchase) licensing — and it can also be purchased as part of the larger Maxon One bundle alongside ZBrush, Redshift, Red Giant Complete, and Forger.
