Papr Editor is a free WordPress plugin, currently in beta and under active development, that offers an alternative editor experience for posts. It is a companion to WordPress rather than a replacement: it does not act as a theme, a frontend page builder, or a substitute for the WordPress admin, and it does not guarantee a preview of your site's final appearance. Instead, Papr provides a focused writing environment with a reading-focused preview mode to help writers review content calmly. Content stays fully compatible with the block editor and existing themes, and is stored, published, and permissioned entirely by WordPress itself. The writing experience is delivered through an external companion web application at papr.tangble.com, which connects securely to a WordPress site using the WordPress REST API. Papr is developed by Tangible Design and requires WordPress 6.0 or higher and PHP 7.4 or higher, plus an internet connection for the REST API connection.
Key Features
Distraction-free writing interface — A calm, focused environment for writing and managing WordPress posts, separate from the standard admin clutter.
Reading-focused preview mode — Preview content in a calm, reading-focused mode to review writing before publishing.
Block editor compatible — Posts written in Papr remain fully compatible with the WordPress block editor and your existing theme.
No theme or frontend changes — Papr does not modify your site's frontend or theme output — it is a companion editor, not a page builder or theme.
REST API-based sync — Content is stored in your WordPress site and accessed securely via the WordPress REST API, avoiding vendor lock-in.

Very early-stage plugin with a small install base and no user reviews yet
Preview mode is not a guaranteed match to your site's final live appearance
