PromptDC is an AI prompt and writing assistant that rewrites text you have already written. It fixes grammar, tightens emails and replies, sharpens social posts, and turns rough requests into clearer prompts for AI chat and coding tools. The company describes the text people select as often a first draft: vague, and missing context or constraints.
It is built by an independent company founded in 2024 in Greece by Panagiotis Visilias, who describes himself as the one engineer who designs and ships the product. PromptDC sells paid plans only, and one account covers its desktop app, Chrome extension, IDE extensions and terminal support.
The workflow has three steps. You highlight text in any app, press Cmd+Shift+E on Mac or Ctrl+Shift+E on Windows, and review the rewritten version in a popover near the cursor. You can edit any word, ask for a one-off change such as a shorter version, then choose Replace to put the text back where you wrote it, or Copy.
If nothing is selected, a separate panel opens with Cmd+Shift+U or Ctrl+Shift+U, where you paste text, enhance it and copy the result. In a terminal, Replace pastes the improved prompt but never presses Enter. On macOS, the desktop app needs Accessibility permission to read the selection and paste the approved text back.
Profiles control the output. Ten are built in, including Grammar, Email, Reply, Social, Summarize, Explain, Professional, Concise and Code. Paid plans add custom profiles, so you can describe a style such as House style or Friendly and short and have every rewrite follow it. You can give each profile its own shortcut and set a default profile per app or per website.
The Code profile produces implementation-ready prompts with files, constraints and acceptance criteria, and the output can be Regular, JSON, YAML or XML. The Chrome extension adds a floating toolbar, Changes and Edit views, a personal prompt library inserted by typing //, and community prompts. IDE extensions rewrite prompts in editor AI chat panels.
PromptDC is an AI writing and prompt enhancer. You select text in any app, press a shortcut, and get a rewritten version that you can review, edit and replace. It is available as a Mac and Windows desktop app, a Chrome extension and IDE extensions.
Pro is $9 a month for 200 enhancements, and Enterprise is $15 a month for unlimited enhancements. The Lifetime plan is a one-time $69 payment, listed as reduced from $99, and requires your own API key.
No. PromptDC states it has no free plan, free trial or free credits, and signing up alone does not grant enhancements. The first purchase has a 14-day money-back guarantee if you email support within 14 days.
Yes. The desktop app detects Claude, Codex, Gemini, Grok and Agy CLIs, and Windows also recognizes OpenCode. You select the prompt, press the shortcut and review the result. Replace pastes the clearer prompt and never presses Enter.
For writing, PromptDC says yes. It fixes grammar, tone and clarity, and it works inside any text box on the web, including AI chats, rather than in a separate app. It also rewrites prompts for coding tools.
The desktop app needs an account, an internet connection and a paid plan. The Mac app supports macOS 12.0 or later on Apple silicon and Intel, and the Windows app runs on Windows 10 and 11 on x64. macOS also requires Accessibility permission.

Yes. Monthly plans can be canceled from your account, and access continues until the end of the paid term. Lifetime is a one-time purchase, so there is nothing to cancel.
