Quetext is a web-based plagiarism checker and AI detector built on its DeepSearch technology, which compares text against billions of internet sources. It also bundles a grammar checker, AI summarizer, AI humanizer, citation generator and a paraphrasing tool called AITutorMe. Quetext Software LLC says more than 10 million students, teachers and professionals have used it.
The product is aimed at three groups: students who need to cite and paraphrase, teachers who review submissions, and copywriters who check content before publishing. It is available as a website, browser extensions, an MCP connector for AI assistants and a developer API, all running on the same engine.
Users paste text or upload a file, then run a plagiarism check, an AI check or both. DeepSearch runs the text through three steps: contextual analysis, fuzzy matching and conditional scoring. Quetext says this lets it flag paraphrased passages, including text rewritten by AI tools, by looking at meaning and phrasing rather than keywords alone.
Results appear in a ColorGrade report that uses colors to separate exact matches from near-exact, or fuzzy, matches. An interactive snippet viewer shows each match side by side with its source. The AI Detector flags text line by line with confidence scores, and reports can be downloaded as PDFs and shared by email.
On the checking side, Quetext offers source exclusion, which removes chosen websites from one report or all reports, and a Remarks tool that lets reviewers comment directly on a document. Bulk upload accepts files from Google Drive or OneDrive. The Enhanced Citation Generator produces MLA, APA and Chicago citations for webpages, books and journals.
Writing tools include AITutorMe, which gives three paraphrased options for each selected sentence, an AI Summarizer with short, moderate and long lengths, and an AI Humanizer with several tone options. The AI Detector names ChatGPT, GPT-5, Gemini and LLaMA among the models it targets. Quetext supports 17 languages, and the AI Detector works in 25.
