Qvio turns video into a two-way conversation with Author-Controlled AI, letting viewers ask questions and get creator-grounded answers. Free plan available.
Qvio is HIA Technologies' interactive video product for turning one-way video content into a two-way conversation. Creators upload or create a video and layer on 'Author-Controlled AI' so that viewers can pause, ask a question, and receive an answer that is constrained to the creator's own knowledge base — not an open-ended chatbot response. HIA calls this a 'Human Interface Agent' (HIA) and pitches it as a way to keep videos short while exposing additional detail only when a viewer actually asks for it. The platform also supports digital avatars so an expert's likeness can deliver answers, embeddable calls-to-action, session-level analytics (watch time, questions asked, engagement patterns), and comprehension checks such as quizzes. Qvio is used heavily in healthcare (pre- and post-operative patient education, patient communication) and higher education (supplementing in-person teaching), with published case studies from orthopedic surgery practices, a breast cancer screening awareness program, and a university course. Customers referenced on the marketing site include Genentech, George Washington University, University of Georgia, Johns Hopkins, WebMD, USC, Elevance Health, and Sagility.
