Octane AI is a quiz platform built for Shopify brands. Its current product, called Phoenix, lets merchants create product recommendation quizzes, gift finders and similar shopper-facing questionnaires, then see how those quizzes affect completion, opt-ins, orders and revenue. The company describes it as an AI quiz maker and analytics tool, and says more than 5,000 Shopify brands use it.
Quizzes collect zero-party data, meaning answers that shoppers choose to share. Each answer is added to a profile for that shopper, so a skin quiz taken in March and a gift quiz taken in November land on the same person. Merchants can then filter people by answers and sync them to Shopify, Klaviyo or Attentive as properties and tags.
A merchant starts by describing the quiz in a sentence, or by uploading a Word, Excel or PDF file with questions. Phoenix reads the input and builds a first draft in the editor, including questions, images, a product matrix and results pages. The site says a working draft can be ready in hours, and merchants can ask the AI to create or modify parts of the quiz.
Before publishing, an issues finder walks every path a shopper could take and flags problems such as unreachable pages, deleted answers still used in rules, or out-of-stock products. In the example shown, it checked 80 answer combinations in half a second, with a deeper check also available. Fixes can be accepted from the editor, so logic errors are caught before shoppers see them.
On the design side, the builder matches a store's colors, offers fonts such as Inter, Poppins and Playfair Display, generates missing images and applies group changes across a whole quiz. Image analysis lets shoppers take a selfie, and Phoenix reads details like skin tone and undertone to select products. Experiments let teams test quiz variants against completion rate, order conversion or revenue per visit.
Analytics cover a funnel by page, an answers table with completion rate, opt-in rate, orders and revenue per answer, and profiles for individual quiz takers. Orders are counted for up to 90 days after a quiz. For developers, there is a REST API, webhooks, a Storefront JS API, and an MCP server that connects Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex to quiz data.
Octane AI is a quiz platform for Shopify brands. Its Phoenix product uses AI to build product recommendation quizzes and provides analytics on revenue, drop-off and conversion by answer, product and shopper.
Basic is $50/month, Plus is $200/month and Enterprise & Unlimited starts at $500/month. Yearly billing saves 15%, bringing them to $43, $170 and $425+ per month. Overage credits cost $0.10 each.

One credit equals one quiz engagement, meaning someone completing a quiz. AI features like Smart Products (about 0.3 credits), Smart Copy (about 0.1) and Image Analyzer (about 0.4) use additional credits.
Octane AI integrates with Shopify, Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Recart, Gorgias, Recharge, Stay AI, Skio, Loop, Smartrr, Tapcart, Google Analytics and Meta. Zapier and Alloy are also listed in the plan comparison.
It suits Shopify DTC brands that want product recommendation quizzes tied to revenue data and email or SMS personalization. Larger brands can add experiments, advanced analytics and a dedicated account manager.
Yes. You can send a quiz from another platform, a custom build or a spreadsheet of questions, and Octane AI rebuilds it in Phoenix with your questions, logic and results. Migration calls are booked from the demo page.
The Basic plan at $50/month with two quizzes and Klaviyo and Shopify sync is aimed at smaller stores starting out. The company says most brands launch a first quiz within a few hours.
