Plannex is a web-based planning platform built for teams that deliver client work. Its core idea is that a whole engagement, from the first brief to the final invoice, can live on one visual canvas instead of being spread across a task manager, chat threads, video links and shared documents.
Each project or process is a blueprint, drawn as connected nodes. Teams add gates, approvals and automations between those nodes, and the flow they draw becomes the live project. The company describes the product as a visual operating system for agencies, freelancers, restaurants and anyone running structured engagements.
Work starts with a blueprint. Users can build one by dragging and connecting nodes, by pasting a messy email into the AI brief intake to get a structured plan with owners and deadlines, or by sketching a workflow in the Blueprint Sketch extension and converting it with one click.
Once the flow exists, nodes do the policing. A gate holds the next phase until its conditions are met, an approval node collects a signature, and a webhook or notification fires when its trigger is reached. The same nodes can be viewed as a Kanban board, and delegation nodes link to other boards or blueprint instances so their progress rolls up into the parent.
The main control features are gate nodes, which can require all, any or X of Y connected nodes to finish, and approval nodes that record timestamped signatures against the exact deliverable. Pulse and notification nodes draft weekly client updates, stand-ups and overdue reminders from the canvas, and they can be edited before sending.
On the reporting side, the insights view reads from the same canvas and tracks progress, timeline, budget, revisions, approvals and client signals, with a risk queue for stuck approvals. The branded client portal exposes live status and deliverables to clients while keeping internal comments and owners private.
Optional extensions cover CRM, Kanban boards, blueprint instances, Finance with Stripe invoicing, and Blueprint Sketch. Several are marked beta.
