What is Shoprocket?

Shoprocket is a hosted ecommerce tool that adds a shopping cart and online store to a website that already exists. Instead of migrating to a new store builder, a seller pastes a code snippet into a blog, landing page or site builder page, and products appear with a full checkout.

Shoprocket also offers a hosted storefront for sellers who do not have a site. Its website reports 38,027 stores selling 465,401 products in 198 countries, and a 4.8/5 rating from 38,027 sellers. These figures are the company's own and Gappsy has not verified them.

How does Shoprocket work?

Setup starts in the Shoprocket dashboard, where you create products, upload images and connect a payment gateway such as Stripe or PayPal. A code generator then produces a custom snippet for a single product, several products or the cart, which you paste into your page.

After that first embed, changes are made in the dashboard and appear in the store in real time, so the snippet does not need updating. Orders are processed through your own gateway account, and the company says funds reach you directly and that it never takes a cut.

Key features of Shoprocket

Products can be physical, digital downloads, licence keys, services or donations, with options, variations, inventory tracking, Pay What You Want pricing and tabs on product descriptions. Each product gets its own URL, and customers can search, sort and browse embedded catalogs.

Beyond the catalog, Shoprocket offers tax and shipping settings, discounts and promo codes, custom emails per product, and 21 languages with editable text. Developers can use webhooks, an open API and JavaScript events, and Zapier is available on higher plans.
