T-Mining is a Belgian blockchain technology company headquartered in Antwerp whose mission is to make maritime logistics processes more secure and efficient. It builds networks that drive collaboration and digitization across supply chains by leveraging decentralized technologies like blockchain.

Its flagship product is Secure Container Release (SCR), an electronic Delivery Order (eDO) platform that replaces the traditional PIN-code container pick-up process at ports with blockchain-enabled tokens and ID-based/biometric authorization. The platform is built on three pillars the company describes: blockchain (which provides a shared state by tokenizing digital assets such as release rights), an ID Wallet based on Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) for organizational identity management, and privacy (sharing data only on a need-to-know basis instead of centralizing it).

SCR has been deployed with major ocean carriers and terminal operators. MSC Belgium became the first shipping company in the world to launch ID-based container pick-up on the platform, following earlier trials with Van Moer Logistics and MSC PSA European Terminal. CMA CGM integrated the SCR blockchain solution at the Port of Antwerp, and Hapag-Lloyd rolled out PIN-free container handling in Rotterdam. Van Moer and Molenbergnatie deployed an automated SCR solution via an API integration with Go4Logistics. The new container terminal at the Port of Limburg (Genk) also partnered with T-Mining and itsme to secure container handling. According to T-Mining, the network connects thousands of logistics companies across multiple European countries.

Beyond SCR, T-Mining has run a Secure Document Workflow network that used blockchain to transfer Certificates of Origin between Belgium and Singapore with partner GUUD, and it piloted blockchain-based container release and document workflows at the Port of Antwerp and Port of Rotterdam. The company is ISO 27001:2022 certified and is a member of the World Economic Forum's 'Redesigning Trust' initiative. It has raised financing from investors including Taste Invest (the Westerlund family) and PMV. T-Mining is not an open-source project; it is a commercial B2B technology vendor selling to ports, terminals and ocean carriers rather than a consumer product.

Key Features

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Proven in production with major ocean carriers — MSC, CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd have all deployed the Secure Container Release platform at real ports
  • Removes a well-known fraud vector by replacing shareable PIN codes with ID-based/biometric authorization
  • Backed by real-world scale, connecting a large network of logistics companies across multiple European countries
  • ISO 27001:2022 certified and participates in the World Economic Forum's trust and digital-identity work, signaling security and governance maturity for an enterprise buyer
  • Offers an API integration path (demonstrated via the Go4Logistics integration), so it can plug into existing terminal/logistics software

Cons

  • No public pricing, self-serve signup, or free trial — this is an enterprise sales-led product aimed at ports and carriers, not individual businesses
  • Documentation and product detail on the public site are thin; most concrete information comes from press-release-style news posts rather than a dedicated product/features page
  • Adoption appears concentrated among ocean carriers and European ports so far, so fit for logistics players outside that ecosystem is unproven from public evidence
  • As a blockchain/ID-wallet system, onboarding likely requires integration work with a terminal's existing systems rather than an out-of-the-box setup
