Klok is a time tracking, client reporting and invoicing product for people who work for themselves. It keeps each entry attached to a client, project, agreed rate and description, then carries checked work into reports and invoice drafts. It is a trading name of ViralMESH, based in Manchester, UK, and is aimed at solo freelancers.
Klok does not present team administration, employee monitoring or enterprise controls as part of its scope. Its own pages say an established team product may suit larger teams, wider integration catalogues or mature native apps better. That narrow focus shapes both what the product does well and where it stops.
How does Klok work?
Work starts with a client and a project. The user adds billing details and a default hourly rate, or a retainer with a fee per period, included hours and an overage rate. Time is then tracked with a live timer or added afterward in the Timesheet. Expenses are recorded with a date, category, amount and receipt, and marked billable when they should be offered for invoicing.
Checked time becomes a report, which can be scheduled to reach a client by email with a PDF attached. Invoices begin as editable drafts built from time, rates and billable expenses. Nothing is sent automatically unless the user enables automatic delivery for that project, and issued invoices keep their original record.
Key features of Klok
Revenue Rescue gathers uninvoiced billable time, incomplete entries, overdue balances, forgotten running timers and unfinished invoice drafts in one place. A Timer Recovery Timeline orders active, unusually long, overnight, incomplete and recently deleted time and explains each flag. Discarded time can be restored, and Undo is available for 20 seconds after certain changes.
Klok also supports project approvals, where a freelancer prepares scope, estimated hours, rate and a maximum charge and shares a private expiring link. Project health compares fixed-fee scope with all recorded hours. Client profitability views keep currencies separate and flag missing cost rates, and retainer alerts appear at 75%, 90% and 100% of an allowance.
Key Features
Timer and timesheet — Start a live timer or add time later. Each entry keeps its client, project, notes and agreed rate, and a mini timer stays at the bottom of every workspace page.
Revenue Rescue and timer recovery — Collects uninvoiced billable time, incomplete entries, overdue balances, forgotten running timers and invoice drafts needing attention. A Timer Recovery Timeline flags long, overnight and recently deleted time.
Scheduled client reports — Reports can be scheduled by day and time, sent as a summary or detailed email with an optional PDF, and tested before delivery. Saved report views are kept in the browser.
Draft-first invoicing — Time, rates and billable expenses move into an editable invoice draft. Nothing is sent unless automatic delivery is enabled for that project, and issued invoices keep their original record.
Square invoicing — Scheduled Square invoicing is available now. It begins with a reviewable draft, and automatic sending is switched on separately for each project.
Retainers and expenses — Set a fee per period, included hours and an overage rate for retainers. Attach receipts to expenses and mark them billable. Alerts appear when an allowance reaches 75%, 90% or 100%.
Project approvals and Project health — Prepare scope, estimated hours, rate and a maximum charge, then share a private expiring link for client approval. Project health tracks fixed-fee scope against all recorded hours.
Client profitability — Compares invoiced fees with all recorded hours, including non-billable work, and keeps currencies separate. Missing cost rates and credits are flagged so revenue is not shown as net profit.
Planning boards and daily capacity — Kanban, Week and Today views support planning sessions, working hours and daily capacity. These are available on the web, while native Planning remains planned.
Recoverable records — Discarded time can be restored, an Undo option lasts 20 seconds after certain changes, and workspace data can be exported. Plan changes do not delete existing records.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Klok?
Klok is a time tracking, client reporting and invoicing product for freelancers. It keeps time, rates, expenses, reports and invoice drafts connected to the client and project they belong to. It is a trading name of ViralMESH.
How much does Klok cost?
Klok Free costs £0 and allows two active clients and unlimited projects. Pro costs £7.99 per workspace each month, subject to normal fair use. Both plans include every current feature.
Does Klok have a free trial?
Yes. New Pro subscribers get 30 days free, then pay £7.99 a month unless they cancel. Checkout collects a payment method but does not charge it when the trial starts, and the trial is available once per workspace.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Free is an ongoing plan with two active clients, unlimited projects and every current feature. No payment card is needed to start.
What does Klok integrate with?
Scheduled Square invoicing is the integration available now. Stripe client invoicing is in progress and not yet available. The help centre also mentions connecting Chrome, Android and Mac apps.
Is Klok suitable for teams?
Not in the current release. Klok is built for one person and does not offer team scheduling, approvals or broad team administration. Its own pages suggest an established team product may fit teams better.
What happens if I cancel Pro or go back to Free?
Nothing is deleted. Pro stays active until the end of the trial or current paid period. After that, two clients and their projects stay writable and work above the Free limit becomes read-only until you upgrade again.
Does Klok send invoices automatically?
Not by default. Invoices and reports are prepared as drafts for approval. Automatic delivery only starts when it is explicitly enabled for a specific project.
