GoFactoX is a WordPress plugin for WooCommerce that automatically generates Factur-X-format electronic invoices and credit notes each time an order completes. Factur-X is the Franco-German electronic invoice standard: a human-readable PDF with a structured, machine-readable XML file embedded inside it. GoFactoX produces PDF/A-3 files (validated against all 146 verapdf PDF/A-3B rules) with CII/UBL XML and the French legal mentions required on invoices — SIRET, TVA, late-payment penalties, the flat €40 recovery fee, and the Article 293 B VAT-exemption notice for auto-entrepreneurs. It adds B2B fields at checkout (SIREN, SIRET, VAT number, purchase-order number), supports SEPA credit-transfer QR codes, and is compatible with WooCommerce's High-Performance Order Storage and block-based Checkout, as well as WooCommerce Subscriptions, WPML and Polylang. The plugin does not transmit invoices itself; merchants forward the generated files through their own 'Plateforme Agréée' (PDP) account, with the site naming compatibility with Iopole, Pennylane and Chorus Pro, so there is no vendor lock-in. It is positioned to help French WooCommerce merchants prepare for France's mandatory e-invoicing reform: businesses must be able to receive electronic invoices from September 2026, and SMEs must also issue them from September 2027. GoFactoX is offered on a free Starter tier plus two paid annual plans (Pro and Business) that unlock automatic generation, the REST API, and multi-site licensing.

Pros & Cons
Pros
Generates Factur-X invoices validated as PDF/A-3B compliant (146 of 146 verapdf rules) directly inside WooCommerce
Free Starter tier lets stores try manual invoice generation before committing to a paid plan
Compatible with WooCommerce HPOS and the block-based Checkout, plus WooCommerce Subscriptions, WPML and Polylang
No vendor lock-in — generated files are transmitted through the merchant's own Plateforme Agréée account (e.g. Iopole, Pennylane, Chorus Pro)
Cons
Interface and documentation are French-language only, which may limit adoption outside francophone markets
Only useful to merchants running WooCommerce — not a fit for stores on other e-commerce platforms
Automatic per-order generation, credit notes, and the REST API are gated behind the paid Pro/Business tiers
